The Grandkids

We headed down the highway today to see the two grandkids.  Enough was enough.  Megan and Nicholas didn’t have school work today.

Dennis and I had a picnic lunch at the road side rest at Leseuer off of 169.  The traffic was quite light.  We noticed as we passed through several towns, everywhere where there were drive-through options for foods there were line ups.

It was great to see the family at Strawberry Court.  Jeremy has a good quiet office and he has been working from home for some time and may continue for some time.  Nicholas stood in front of me and it was eye ball to eye ball.  He is well on his way to being a tall teenager.  With Megan being 16 she has a summer job at the Mustard Seed Greenhouse.  Last week she had put in 26 hours.  Megan did have a fender bender several weeks ago and the deal is half of her paychecks go towards the deductible of the repair.  Apparently the car was repaired in record time as the repair shop had not had a lot of business.

Before we left, we were treated to fresh rhubarb crumble dessert.  It truly was a first of the season treat.

Here we are, safe and sound at home on Stauffer Avenue.  It was a good day, a good break from staying home and great to see family members.  It had been February when Megan took her driving test in St. James.

The first thing I did was crank up the furnace.  It had been so warm over the last week that the thermostat had been turned down . . . way down.

Tomorrow it will be “Home . . . home on the range” with the usual and customary back in place.  Sweet.
