Oh my gosh, two road trips within four days. Exercise at the Super 8 was very invigorating and Dennis was all about using my coupon at Michael’s. I think we have cooled off the road warrior for a bit. I will admit it does feel good to get some things taken care of in a timely manner. It’s mid-afternoon and I still have a great share of the day left here at home and Dennis is off to have coffee at the body shop – that no longer does body work. I don’t have any idea what Dennis will do if Rich ever gets the building sold. The boys will have to regroup. In the mean time each day Dennis works a bit more on getting his beloved garage porch floor dry.

Dang that Michael’s store in Mankato. Just for this week there is 75% off for framing. I visited with Dennis about it as we just picked up two items on the 16th with a 75% coupon. After we brought those two home and I hung them up Dennis encouraged me to pick out two more to have framed with UV glass protection. Who knew the the ole cowboy would show a bit of a flair for what looked good in regard to interior decorating. Bless his heart. Dennis got to pick out the two to take in and he suggested that they have the same color frames and matting as they looked as if they were sewn as a pair though they were done four years apart. Taking the projects out of the old frames gets to be quite a project so as to not damage the edges of the fabric. Talk about staples, two way tape and glue . . . They have been carefully laundered and have been stretched and are now drying. When the wind decides to simmer down we will be making a trip to Michael’s. Lets hear it for good sale prices.

It may not be a Sunday but this is a close second for “This is the day the Lord has made.” Dennis and I made a day out of a road trip/road date. I was excited to see the projects I had taken to Michael’s for framing. Though I had picked out the mat colors and frames it was still exciting to see it all pulled together. In years past when I had items framed I picked out a pencil thin frame and wham-bam it was deemed done. (More …)

Gray days bring out the homemade sunshine. Even without the bright natural light, the ice is dwindling. The air smells like spring and the early morning birds have found their voices. I am about to graduate from Chiropractor 101. The hurtful butt cheek has given up and now I have just what feels like a steel belted radial band across my back. We are making progress. With the chiro’s magic elbows and me faithfully doing the home exercises I should be good to go within the week. The water has gone down on our patio and Dennis has taken his rocking chair off of the table in the garage porch and has once again resumed his stints of watching TV in the garage porch, albeit a bit damp. It will be quite a while before the carpet can be determined worth saving. Tomorrow will be a trip to Mankato as Michael’s has called and two of my stitch projects (one in 2001 and the other in 2002) are ready to be picked up complete with UV ray protection glass to protect from fading. I did wash the two items as they have been previously framed with no glass and I knew it was totally safe as white dish towels have been embroidered for years using DMC embroidery and they have withstood countless laundry days complete with Hylex. Have a day everyone.
