First Time This Spring
When I came back from my walk this forenoon, I didn’t come right into the house. My mission was to go into the garage and come out with one of our old folding chairs. It was the first time for the spring of 2019 that I was sitting out on the patio, complete in my bright yellow winter jacket with my bright red stocking cap surrounded on three sides by snowbanks. Spring has arrived and so have I. I was in the good company of squirrels and birds.
We had a good day of prep for a trip to the metro tomorrow. Megan will be in an ice capade event tomorrow. Dennis and I are excited as we have not seen the Eden Prairie family since Christmas. Dennis vacuumed out the little red pickup, filled it with gas and made sure the windshield was clean. In checking we know that the County Road 41 route that we take off of HWY 169 is closed with flooding. Traveling through New Ulm going north to HWY 212 will be the route that we will be taking. Leaving earlier than usual will also be needed. I have already changed the automatic coffeemaker to go off at 6 a.m.
We are excited for the day as I have had one trip to Mankato since the first of the year. Yippee . . . Grammie is getting out of St. James!
