Slowly, Slowly
The fall home cleaning is well under way here on Stauffer Avenue. My Mom would be so pleased. Unfortunately, the main floor of our home looks a mess. I have started in the farthest corner of the basement. Let’s hear it for opened cisterns in our older homes. It has made a great closet. Ya, and a catch all. It has four walls and one doorway. Today I mastered two walls and changed out the contents of those two wall. Man oh man does the main basement room . . . look a mess. The Epileptic drive is next week for gently used items. Oh do I have them. Nothing of an emotional type but items that perhaps someone wanted to shed and were gracious to give it to us and we graciously accepted and then it got stored.
The puzzles that Megan and Nicholas enjoyed have been wrapped as a bundle with Press’n Seal. No moving pieces there. The only puzzles I have saved are the four that Carrie and Kevin played with at my Mom’s home. So the day went. As long as I have family members and friends that come and shop from my sewing supplies, I will find room to store them, perhaps just in a better spot. I was texting quite a bit to Silver Bay, Minnesota. Dennis’ granddaughter Erin has three little girls and I sent photos of some activity books and paint supplies and . . . I had a taker. We will need a large tote and when someone is heading up north, there will be a treasure trove for Ava, Bella and Josie.
Today was a good day and I have my vitamins set out for the morning as I will need quite a few more good days to continue working through the basement. Maybe it shouldn’t have been put off as long as it was, but it is what it is and I aim to get it done.
