Stauffer Avenue’s Favorite Helper
When I came home from Dennis’ daughter’s on Saturday, I felt like Santa with a sack of goodies. Granddaughter Cheyenne had been telling me she wanted a t-shirt quilt from her college track years. Today Dennis took the job in hand and made short work out of cutting up t-shirts. I was buried in my fabric closet seeking and searching for the fabrics to use to pull together the total project. Cheyenne’s choice of colors were black and light blue. By golly, I think we’ve got it! Tomorrow I will begin ironing stabilizer onto the back of these t-shirts. One step at a time. Earlier in the day Dennis headed to the launderette downtown with an amount of rugs from the porch. With all the rain, mild temps and many four footed creatures going in and out . . . the porch was due for some serious cleaning. I had had a can of Hot Shot carpet cleaner in the storage closet for some time. Not having carpet in the house, I was happy I had hung onto it. While Dennis was gone, I manned the vacuum on the first round and then took scrub brush and Hot Shot in hand. I do believe we will be back in business by tomorrow. An overnight drying, a vacuuming and we will be ready for new dirt. It really is all about team work.
