Easter Sunday

Not a day when gloom should be had.  It should have bright sunshine as the entrance of the empty tomb is found.

I rested well last night.  It might sound silly, but it was the last hurrah for Mediacom’s cable service.  This forenoon with coffee in arm’s reach I called said cable company and asked them to cancel the cable service, while we would maintain the modem for internet and Wi-Fi.  A very helpful young fellow allowed me to know how to access our usage via streaming television programs.  The main concern that I passed onto Dennis in the patio porch, is that when he leaves the porch, the set needs to be turned off, thus the meter is no longer running.  It actually is a great way for Dennis to become comfortable with a new way of accessing programs. All he needs to do is give me a call and I will be out in the patio porch to help.

This last week and a half has meant lots of commotion on Stauffer Avenue.  The walk-in shower did make a bit of cleaning that was needed.  When Kevin put in the tub and surround 24 years ago, he cut a hole in the east bathroom wall and slid the unit in.  I remember it was a brisk day and a bit breezy for a time.  There is no easy way with which to improve one’s quality of living.

During these last months while visiting various doctors for Dennis, the question does come up as to whether or not he can still comfortably live in his own home.  You damn right he/we can!  Everything we have done this early spring has allowed for ease in keeping our own home up.  Even with the garage and patio porch shingling and the walk-in shower . . . I don’t think it would have covered what a month in the nursing home would have covered.

Next-21-BlksAs I am putzing in the studio today, Dennis is in the patio porch using Murphy Wood soap to clean the teak wooden rocking chair.  We do keep ourselves busy.  In between time, the microwave stand got a treatment with the Murphy Wood Soap wipes.  No more dust from the bathroom project.  I will wait until Dennis comes in before I tackle the shelves over the refrigerator.  Better to be safe than sorry.

I heard from both of the kids today and you know that made my day going into a new week.  Priceless!
