Road Date

This morning we headed out on a road date to Alexandria to see Dennis’ sister. A warrior heart with a fragile body.  June had one last request of me, “Take care of Dennis.”  Bless her heart.  O.K., that seals it . . . no option for trade in.

Of course there were detours.  It gave us a chance to see new countryside. Most of the wheat has been harvested and there were many fields of the stubble that remained after the wheat straw had been bailed.  Different crops for different areas.

We are thankful to be home and sound after a day on the highways.  Yup, Dennis is doing a “Dorothy of Oz” rendition of clicking his heels together.  “There is no place like home.”

These fall feeling days are my favorites.  The entire population of  . . . two on Stauffer Avenue couldn’t ask for more.  My hope for all is that tomorrow may be a day of rejuvenation to take on the new week with gusto.
